Personal Profile

It’s in my first year of high school that I discovered that I had a passion for running. Each year the school organized a race. The first time that I ran that race. I finished fourth of the entire school. During my last year of high school, I joined the track and field team. I was the star of the school. I won 4 medals: one gold, two silvers and one bronze that year.  At the end of the school year, I had a big decision to make. I had to decide if I would go to an English or French college.  I decided on the French one because it was closer. The year after, I started college in the Pure and Applied Science program and I was also accepted in the sports study program. With that special program, I could choose my schedule so it wouldn’t interfere with my training. I could also be exempted from classes in order to go to my competitions, but it had its ups and downs. In order to have good grades, I had to work even harder because my classes were all concentrated so I could go to my training and, if I miss classes for any reason, I had to catch up with the others in my spare time. However, with all the sports in which I am involved, it helps me stay in shape. It also helps me in my studies because it teaches me to be disciplined and how to manage my time.  I feel this is something that is very important in life.  It also helps me keep focus when I am under pressure situations.

Since I spend all my time training for competitions, it is obvious that one of the thing that I excel the most at is sports.  I am good in almost all the sports that I try. I love sports. Without it I wouldn’t be able to live.  Probably that is why my biggest goal in life is to be able to participate in an international competition. My first job was to ref soccer games. I am still a referee. It has now been four years that I have been a referee. I used to play soccer, I played for twelve years. I also worked at Loblaw’s but I had to stop working there because I didn’t have enough time with school and track. I also worked at Bath Fitter as a student during the summer.

I would like to continue my studies in Physiotherapy that specializes in sports medicine at the University of Sherbrooke where I would be a part of the university track and field team. After all my studies are finished, I would become a physiotherapist for a sports team like soccer, hockey, track team, and many more options and when I am older and it won’t be as easy for me to travel with the teams, I would start my own center where I would treat the public, not only athletes.
